Karmic Retribution and Dishcloths….

Ok, so tomorrow is like my sporting life Christmas, aka The DAYTONA 500.  I LOVE NASCAR! I’m a freak, and I don’t care who knows it. My favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. He switched numbers this year andI was so happy to find his new number made into a dishcloth pattern. http://woodhilldesignknits.blogspot.com/2007/11/88-dale-earnhardt-jr.html  You can go to this link and on the sidebar she has a list of all of her free dishcloth patterns and driver numbers. So if you have a NASCAR junkie at your house, or someone you know does, this is a great gift idea.

So tomorrow is the big race. I’ll be watching it in all it’s glory, hopefully NOT from my little 27 inch 15 year old TV in our family room. Tomorrow at noon we will be buying a 42 inch LCD  1080p. How are we affording this after just building out house? Well I received an awesome check in the mail from my old school district from last year in T***a. Anway, the scores were so high in science school wide that I received a $3000 check for teaching achievement! WOO HOO! I didn’t think I got one since I don’t work there anymore, but I guess not now! WOO HOO! It is karmic retribution for me because others did not get the check because I was the only one that taught science in the building.  Towards the end of my time at my last school administration and teachers there were incredibly unkind to me. It almost broke my spirit of being a teacher.  I was called horrible names that were not true, stories were told about me that would make you sick, and it just killed me to go to work everyday. I never said a word to anyone about how I felt. I just held my head high, smiled, ignored and tried to act like I wasn’t hearing what everyone was saying.  Now I get the moolah and I did a 20 minute happy dance tonight! SWEET!

Sorry, I forgot to add your new blog address to my bloglines subscription and now that it finally dawned on me, I have a little bit of catching up to do. LOL

First of all, I can’t believe how crappy the other teachers and administration were to you in your last school. Aren’t you all supposed to be on the same team? My BFF is a teacher in the Houston area and I am always amazed at the stories she tells, about how political everything is, and how catty the other teachers can be. And there’s no need for it! So be proud of that $3000 – you earned it! And besides, I think teachers are one of the lowest paid degree required jobs in our state, which is very sad.
